I love to decorate for parties, so I was so excited when my Grandma asked for my help throwing my cousin a bridal shower. I asked my cousin what type of theme she wanted for her bridal shower and all she said was that she liked vintage things. One of the first things that came to mind was milk glass vases. I have been collecting milk glass for just a short time, but I always snatch it up when I come across it at yard sales or thrift shops.
I was excited to use my milk glass collection for something other then as decorations around my house. I had several pieces of my collection that broke when we moved, so it was a bit nerve racking boxing them all up and transporting them three hours down to my Grandma’s house. Luckily they all arrived there and back without any incident.
This small little hob nail vase is one of my favorites. At home it often holds the small flowers from the yard that Arianna picks for me.
The blue mason jars are my Grandma’s vintage canning jars. They added a beautiful pop of color against all of the milk glass.
This square shaped jar was one of my favorites of her’s. I have not come across another one like it, It is beautiful.
I felt that we needed a special place for the bride to be to sit and since the party was outside there was not a set front of the room.
I brought the white arbor that I used for my wedding and decorated it with silk flowers for the bride to be to sit under and open her gifts.
My Grandma did a great job as hostess of the shower. She had some fun games, one of which included these adorable chocolates that she wrapped up in brown paper and twine.
Party favors were wrapped up in brown paper bags and white lace doilies.
The party was wonderful and the Bride was showered with lots of gifts and love from her family and friends.
Be sure to check out my other parties!
