Can you believe that we are in the single digit countdown to Christmas! This holiday season is just going by so quickly. I am happy to report that all of my Christmas shopping is complete, now I have only to wrap all the presents! I love wrapping presents. My Grandma taught me how to properly wrap a present when I was in elementary school. After that I became the unofficial present wrapper for my family. My dad always had me wrap all of the presents that he bought for my mom. My brothers would often ask me to wrap their gifts as well. I started teaching Arianna how to wrap presents this year. I had her wrap the present that she picked out for Tad. She had fun doing it and it turned out great!
This year is the first time I have ever decorated our bedroom for Christmas. Since our house doesn’t have as many surfaces to decorate as our last house did I ended up having a lot of decorations that didn’t have a place. I decided to use them in our master bedroom and I am loving it! It makes me happy every time I walk into our room.
I went with a neutral pallet of white and natural pines with a little bit of mercury glass. Nothing over the top, just simple, white and bright.
The white deer are one of my favorite items of my Christmas decor. I keep one out year round to add a little masculinity to our bedroom.
The Noel came from the Target Dollar Spot and I just laid it in the wreath. Our bed pillows normally have a blue dotted floral print to them. I flipped them around because the back has the grey X marks on them and they matched better with the decorating theme that I was going with.
I made the mercury glass ornaments in the dough bowl at the end of the bed. The cedar chest is a Erickson family heirloom that was passed onto my husband when we got married.
I will be sharing my tutorial for my DIY Mercury glass ornaments tomorrow!
My deer pillow came from Society 6. They sent this one on accident instead of sending me the one I ordered. They had great customer service and were quick to fix it. They also let me keep this one. While these pictures make the pillow look friendly, in real life the eyes are a bit too yellow and stare to intensely at you. My husband was a little confused as to why I bought such a strange pillow until I explained to him how we ended up with it. Now we both just laugh about it’s awkwardness. If the pillow is sitting up right and not tilted back you don’t notice the eyes so much.
Our Master Bedroom in this house is bigger then the one in our last house, however this bedroom has a lot more limited wall space. On one side of the room is a sliding glass door to our back deck as well as the door that goes out to the rest of the house. On the other side is the door to our master bathroom and our walk in closet. Our dressers had to become our bedside tables because there was no where else to put them.
I didn’t really intend for there to be a deer theme in our bedroom, it just sort of happened.
My grain sack monogram sign came from My Trusted Treasures on Etsy. It is one of my favorite farmhouse sign shops! Melissa does beautiful work.
I love having our bedroom decorated! It fills the house with more Christmas spirit. Next year I plan on decorating the kids bedrooms for Christmas as well. Now its a little to late to decorate their rooms.
