4th of July is one of my favorite holidays.
I feel like the holiday has its own energy that makes summer fun and exciting. If I could deck out the whole house in red white and blue I would. Lets be honest, I do try and decorate every room! lol I just don’t have that much patriotic decor, surprisingly. I did add a few new things to my 4th of July decor this year and I am excited to share them with you today!
My first new addition to my 4th of July decor was this runner that I made. I love the pattern of the fabric and of course I can’t resist anything with pom poms!
I picked up these two star and strip signs from Hobby Lobby! I love how they compliment each other, plus they fit right into my tiered tray. They do have a ribbon hanger so they could be hung up. They would look so cute in the middle of a wreath.
I wish I could find some pretty vintage American flags, but I haven’t had any luck yet. I picked up these flags from Target to add to one of my ironstone pitchers. When I bought them they were not so pretty. They were all bent different ways. I sprayed them down with some water and laid them flat to dry and now they hang like pretty little flags.
You can’t go wrong with adding neutral elements to your 4th of July decor.
On the back side of my tier tray is a little Rae Dunn and the number 4 cup from my Kentucky Derby Party! I added a few rocks and a votive to it this time around.
Don’t you love when you can reuse a decor items like that!
I wanted to do something a little different for my Summer decor and when I came across these blueberry branches I fell in love with them and knew they would be perfect. After all summer is berry season around here.
When I was a kid I hated blueberries. I thought they were mushy and gross. I think I was the only kid that didn’t eat the blueberries when we went blueberry picking. Now they still aren’t my go to fruit but I don’t mind them mixed in a fruit salad or as a warm slice of blueberry pie topped with ice cream!
However I do love my faux blueberries. I picked mine up at a local craft store called Crafts Direct.
I have started to work on planning our outfits for the 4th of July. The kids and I dress is red, white and blue attire for the entire week of 4th of July. I am thinking this year we might even make some of our own attire because I haven’t found a ton of things I have loved this year. If we do I will share a post on what we make!
I will also be sharing my favorite room in our house, the sunroom decorated for the 4th of July as well as my 4th of July mantel! So there is a lot more 4th of July decor goodness coming!
Have you started your
4th of July decorating yet?
