The countdown to the 4th of July weekend has started! I love celebrating the 4th of July and decorating for it! This year things have been a little behind because of all the summer craziness. I have had to do a lot of my decorating last minute. If you are decorating last minute like me, here are 5 ways to decorate with the American flag for a quick and simple 4th of July.
5 Ways to Decorate with the American Flag
1. An American Flag Centerpiece
Gather up some white ironstone pitchers and American Flags in different sizes and you have yourself an instant inexpensive 4th of July centerpiece. This idea is a great budget friendly 4th of July decoration that can have a big impact. I used this look in my Farmhouse 4th of July Decor in the Dining Room.
2. Fabric and Ribbon American Flag
This is a quick craft that you can do in a short amount of time! If its the day before your 4th of July party and you need some more patriotic decorations you can whip this together in no time at all.
You can find the step by step tutorial for my DIY Ribbon Flag.
3. A Simple Stars and Stripes Banner
Represent the American flag in a different way with a Stars and Stripes banner. A little patriotic bunting adds the perfect finishing touch to any space. You can buy one like this Patriotic Pennant Banner or this USA Red, White, & Blue Banner Bunting or if you are feeling crafty you can make your own like my 4th of July Stars and Stripes Banner!
4. American Flag Sign
Another fun DIY project to add the American flag to your decorations for the 4th of July is to paint a barn quilt flag. I made this barn quilt sign this year and created a tutorial that is featured over on the DecoArt Blog. You can find it here.
5. American Flag Vignette
The simplest of the decorating tips for the 4th of July is to create an American flag vignette. The flag doesn’t have to be huge, it just needs to be the star of the show. I create this vintage american flag display in my living room by simply leaning the flag against the wall and draping it over my typewriter.
Behind my living room couch I hung my newest vintage american flag, a 48 star flag that we found in the attic. A simple yet perfect way to decorate for the 4th of July.
I hope that you have a fun and safe 4th of July weekend!
