Adding Curb Appeal on a Budget

The weather has been so nice and beautiful this last week that we have spent most of our time outside enjoying the sunshine.

I think I even may have the start of a tan! Whoohoo!

I was a little bored sitting in the front yard as the kids rode their bikes around. I just finished off my latest read,  The Fiery Cross from the Outlander series. – The series is seriously so good!

I was looking for a project to work on and that’s when my eyes locked in on my front door.

Painting your front door and adding some accents of greenery is a great way to some curb appeal to your home on a budget. The more layers and textures the better!

The blue of the door was a bit faded and the front door still had bits of left over tape on it from the previous owners. It was just begging for a little make over. It was time to add some curb appeal on a budget!

I had some DecoArt Americana Decor Curb Appeal sitting around that I have been waiting to use and this was the perfect project for it! I had a few different colors on hand to choose from, but decided to go with Colonial Black.

DecoArt offers a wide selection of colors in the Curb Appeal line which is really awesome! There is really a color for everyone.

The DecoArt Curb Appeal paint was wonderful to work with. The paint has a nice thickness to it so it only took one coat of paint to cover the door completely. I was able to paint the door in under 20 minutes and it dried not long after that. The paint is nice and durable and wont scratch off easily.

I added a peony wreath to the door for a pop of spring color. I found this one at Target last year or so, but you can find a similar wreath here.

I am on the hunt for a cute front door mat.  These are some of my favorites that I have come across so far. Now I just have to pick one that I like the most.

Which one do you like?

1.Home Sweet Home  2. Mitre Stripe  3. Natural Coir   4. Cool Stripe

The ferns came from Costco for $15 each and placed them to some black pedestal planters that I had on hand. I would like to eventually build my own planters but that is a project for another day.
