  • A Farmhouse St. Patrick’s Day Mantel

We don’t really do anything special for St. Patrick’s day, that is if you don’t count eating Lucky Charms for breakfast special. I had this idea last year of an all green vintage book display for the mantel. I thought it would be a cute way to tie in St. Patrick’s day to my farmhouse decorating style. The only problem was last year I had only two or three vintage green books. So anytime that I was out thrifting I would keep an eye out for vintage green hard covered books. I have collected just enough to put together this farmhouse St. Patrick’s day mantel decor. I tried finding an…

  • DIY Burlap Sack Wall Art

Today I am going to show you how I made my DIY burlap sack wall art that I used in my living room fall decor this year. Its a quick DIY project that can be easily customized to have any phrase or saying that would fit your decor. Its a fun new way to decorate your walls too! I needed something to add to the space behind my little vintage farmhouse table in the living room. I wanted something rustic to go with my fall decor and I needed something to fill the space but be simple at the same time.     I have used burlap sacks in…

  • Simple Rustic Fall Living Room Decor

Happy First day of Fall!! It is officially the fall season and to celebrate the start of the season by making pumpkin shaped sugar cookies with the kids. They coated them in sprinkles, candy eyes and frosting. I am thinking that this may be the start of a new tradition for us. After cookie decorating we headed outside to enjoy the beautiful fall weather that we were having here in Minnesota. Those days often seem pretty rare as it tends to get cold here pretty quickly. After our time outside I came into the living room to do some reading before I needed to start dinner. I am currently…

  • Apple Tablescape for Fall

Fall is my favorite time of the year and going to the cider mills and picking apples is one of my favorite activities. This year I decided to create an apple tablescape for fall inspired by my love for all things apples. This apple tablescape is a quick and inexpensive way to decorate for fall and would be perfect for any autumn celebration!     The enamel plates match the enamel mugs on my apple cider bar. They kinda makes you feel like you are enjoying the outdoors, but without the annoying bugs to eat you alive!     I used a mixture of vintage brass candle sticks and some…

  • My favorite Signs for Fall from Kirklands

I must confess….. I haven’t done much shopping at Kirklands……yet. I have wandered through a store a time or two so I know they make nice items, but I haven’t been to one in awhile. We don’t have a store near where I live in Minnesota, so I guess that is why I never thought about them. I never realize that their online website was so awesome and full of beautiful home decor stuff and there is a ton of it too! It just hit me the other day to check them out and I feel like I stumbled on a gold mine! Holy smokes do they have a ton…

  • Apple Cider Bar

One of my favorite fall activities is to go to the cider mill!  When I was growing up we would go to the cider mills all the time to pick apples and pumpkins. The fresh doughnuts and cider are hands down my favorite fall treat! I get so excited when fall rolls around and the cider mills open once more for the season!     Living in Minnesota there are no cider mills close to me. I mean legit cider mills where you can watch them crush the apples and make the donuts kind of place. Sure some places have a small apple orchard where they might let you…

  • New Entrance Way Sign

When I saw this sign from Hobby Lobby I knew that It would be perfect addition to our front entrance way decor! I love the saying on it, ” May your Journey always lead you home”. It a little different then other entrance way signs that I have seen.  I think its a good reminder as we walk out the door each day and its something that I want my children to learn.     I strive to build a home that my family always want to come home to. A home full of love and laughter, acceptance and honesty, compassion and forgiveness. It is something that I have…
