• A Nutcracker Birthday Party

Welcome to my daughters Land of Sweets Nutcracker birthday party! It is full of Sugar Plum Fairies, Ballerinas and of course Nutcrackers! This was such a fun birthday party theme to decorate for. I tried to make it as pink, wintry, and sparkly as I could! My daughter asked for a Nutcracker birthday long before we even knew that the new Nutcracker movie was coming out. We did go see it and I think it just made us both more excited to have a Nutcracker birthday party! The first step of a birthday party are the party invitations! I found these nutcracker party invitations on Etsy from LeaDesignsShop. They come…

  • DIY Horse Head Wreath

One of the things I made for my Kentucky Derby Party was a DIY Horse Head wreath. I wanted something to greet my guests at the door as they arrived to the party and this was the perfect thing! I found a few online but none were to my liking so I decided to make one myself. Let me tell you this project is nice and easy and a lot of fun to put together. You can really get creative with it!   Here are the items that you will need to make a DIY Horse Head wreath: Foamboard– I bought mine at the Dollar Tree. Fresh Green Preserved Forest…

  • Kentucky Derby Party

This past weekend we hosted a Kentucky Derby Party and it was a blast! Going to the Kentucky Derby has been on my bucket list for some time, so when my husband suggest we host a Kentucky Derby party I thought that it was a great idea! If you have ever wanted to go to the Kentucky Derby I suggest you host a party on race day and invite all of your friends and family. Planning an putting together this party was so much fun. We couldn’t go to Churchill downs to enjoy the race this year, so I did as much as I could to bring Churchill Downs to…

  • Kentucky Derby Patio Decor from Joss and Main

Its only a few weeks until the Kentucky Derby! It might be hard to believe if the weather where you live has been anything like the weather here in Minnesota. We got a few inches of snow this past weekend! Ugh! It’s bound to get warmer eventually…… Right?! Once it does we can start spending time outside and enjoy some time on the patio! For me the Kentucky Derby is the official kick off of to Patio party season! We are hosting a Kentucky Derby party this year and I could not be more excited! Bring on the mint juleps and big hats! • A My Little Pony Birthday

Ever since we moved to Traverse City last year, Arianna asked on a regular basis if she could go to the ‘Wolf Hotel’ or what most people call, The Great Wolf Lodge. If you are not familiar with The Great Wolf Lodge, it is a large resort hotel that has a massive indoor water park that is exclusive to guest of the hotel. It also has lots of other fun activities for both kids and adults with 5 pin bowling, an arcade, spa, children’s spa, ice cream shop, restaurants, and story time, to name a few. Last year Arianna and I made the plan that we would go to the Great Wolf Lodge for…

  • A Vintage Bridal Shower

I love to decorate for parties, so I was so excited when my Grandma asked for my help throwing my cousin a bridal shower. I asked my cousin what type of theme she wanted for her bridal shower and all she said was that she liked vintage things. One of the first things that came to mind was milk glass vases. I have been collecting milk glass for just a short time, but I always snatch it up when I come across it at yard sales or thrift shops. I was excited to use my milk glass collection for something other then as decorations around my house. I had several pieces…

  • Peter Pan 1st Birthday

We had a beautiful warm sunny day celebrating Ryder’s first birthday. Our family came up to our house and to stay for a long weekend. We had a lot of fun spending time together and celebrating Ryder turning one. Here is Ryder’s Peter Pan 1sts birthday.     To set the tone and let guest know the theme of the party I sent out these adorable postcards by White Rabbit Press on Etsy. She has several other adorable prints so you should go check out her shop. Tay was really great to work with.   Guests were welcomed at the door with a framed Peter Pan silhouette and a sign letting them know that…

  • Peter Pan Birthday Party Preperation

This little guy will be turning one in just a few short days. His first year went by quickly it seems. It felt as if it went by faster then his sisters, maybe it is because he did everything earlier then she did. He rolled over, walked, and got teeth earlier then Arianna. He is becoming less and less of a baby each day and more of a toddler.      Our family spent most of the weekend getting things ready for his Peter Pan themed party next weekend. Nothing can make you clean a house like having company over!     Ryder helped sweep the patio and the deck.  …
