• New Year, New Look

I hope that the new year is treating you well. Our year started off normal. We celebrated New Years Eve with the kids a little early and then watched the New York ball drop on T.V. while sitting on our cozy couch. Just my husband and me. Shortly after that our family was hit with a stomach bug, and well that is never fun and it is always exhausting. So while I gather my frazzled tired self together and sit and focus on what I want to achieve for this new year, I thought that I would start with a new look for the blog. It is not much of a…

  • Vintage Market

This last weekend I had the fun of going to the Finder’s Keepers Vintage Market  with my cousin Melissa and her mom, my Aunt Carol.  I had been counting down the days until it arrived. I was so excited to go check it out! This was my first time going to this specific market, and this was the first vintage shopping experience ever for my cousin Melissa and Aunt Carol. It had also been awhile since I had gone shopping for vintage items, so I was thrilled to get to do some vintage shopping. I mean just look at those teaser photos! Now you can see why I was so excited about it! When…

  • A Vintage Bridal Shower

I love to decorate for parties, so I was so excited when my Grandma asked for my help throwing my cousin a bridal shower. I asked my cousin what type of theme she wanted for her bridal shower and all she said was that she liked vintage things. One of the first things that came to mind was milk glass vases. I have been collecting milk glass for just a short time, but I always snatch it up when I come across it at yard sales or thrift shops. I was excited to use my milk glass collection for something other then as decorations around my house. I had several pieces…

  • 5 Gift Ideas for the Rad Dad on Father’s Day

If your Dad is anything like mine he is really hard to buy gifts for. My dad has this bad habit of going shopping for himself right before a holiday. He has done it pretty consistently for years. He gives you some ideas as to what he wants and then before you know it He has gone out and bought it for himself.  I have had to unwrap and take things back and exchange them for something else numerous times. You think that I would learn and just buy his gift last minute but that would stress me out to much I think. I am a bit of a planner. I…

Light | Art work | Shower Curtain | Pillow | Starfish | Bench | Rug I am loving all the different shades of blues and grays in the pillow and artwork as well as the natural looks of the wood and jute. I think it will look awesome for the kid’s bathroom remodel. • Out with the Old in with the New

The house we moved from was the first house we bought. It was move in ready and for a newly wed couple and first time home owners it was perfect. It was a beautiful home with 12 foot ceilings with beautiful crown molding and vintage hard wood floors. I loved the house but we did little to it to since everything was all newly done when we moved in and life was busy. It was bittersweet to move out of our first home that we lived in for 6 years. This little house is where many memories and life milestones occurred. It is where we started our life together as a Mr.…

  • First on the List

Sometimes when you have an entire house that needs to be remodeled it is hard to figure out where to start. Since we have family that comes and stays on occasion I decided to start our remodel in what we call the Kids/ Guest bathroom. Things I love about this bathroom: It has a TUB! Our old house didn’t have a tub, just a stand up shower which is no fun for a 3 year old. It has so much room! Again at our last house the bathroom was so tiny there was hardly any room to move. Let alone try and bathe a wild toddler! Storage! This bathroom has…
