Today I am going to share with you how to make an EASY Halloween Table Runner to add to your Halloween decorations. This DIY Halloween project is so quick, you will have a cute Halloween table runner that takes less then 5 minutes to make!
I saw these adorable spider web towels in the Halloween section of T.J. Maxx one day when I was out shopping. I really loved them but I knew that I couldn’t use them for towels, they would not stay white for long! That is when I got the idea to make some DIY Halloween Decor.
I just love decorating for Halloween but I didn’t have very many decorations for it. So I decided to use my new spider web towels to make a table runner for my kitchen table.
These spider web towels have more of a canvas feel then a kitchen towel feel and they don’t have the looped towel like fabric on the back. They are similar to a tea towel, but are a little thicker then the traditional tea towel. You are going to want to wash and dry them first to reduce any chance of them shrinking on you later when you go to wash your table runner.
If your house is anything like mine, it will get food thrown on it minutes after you finish it.
Thank goodness for Shout!
Once they are dried, iron them flat to remove any wrinkles. Now the towels are ready to turn into an easy Halloween table runner!
How to make an Easy Halloween Table Runner
Here are your one step instructions:
Place the two towels end to end so that they touched. I did not over lap the ends as I didn’t want a large bump in the center of my table runner. I then ran a wide zig zag stitch with my sewing machine across the seam where the towels were touching. Making sure that the stitch is landing on the towel on each side of the seam.
That’s it! Your done with your table runner! Now put it to your table and add some Halloween decorations. I added some marbled pumpkins that I picked up from the Target dollar spot. With having little kids I needed something for my halloween table that would be ok if it got picked up and tossed off of it. These foam pumpkins worked perfectly plus they are so cute!
