Edgar Allan Poe Halloween Cabinet

I am always using vintage books in my decor, so it should be no surprise that I used them in my Halloween Decor as well. Classic vintage books are my favorite. They are always fun to find and my collection is growing slowly. I thought it would be fun to make an Edgar Allan Poe Halloween Cabinet.

Every time I see the black ravens in Halloween decor it made me think of Edgar Allan Poe’s poem: The Raven. I decided to turn my hutch, where I keep a good portion of my vintage books, into a Raven’s nest.

Now I do not have any vintage books containing Poe’s works but it is on my bucket list of vintage books to get! My husband let me borrow his Edgar Allan Poe book to add to my display. He said I couldn’t have an Edgar Allan Poe Halloween decor without actually having his book in there.

Along with my black raven decor I have a mini ‘Nevermore’ tombstone that I bought last year at the Target Dollar Spot at Halloween. I also added my book page pumpkins that I made several years ago. They are simple dollar store pumpkins covered in strips of book pages. They are some of my favorite pumpkins.

Some of my Halloween black birds are in rough shape because they are one of my kids favorite halloween decorations to play with. I often find them in other parts of the house. So some are missing feathers and one poor little guy is missing a leg.

I switched out my cotton stem wreath for this black grain sack fabric wreath. It fits perfectly along the back of the shelf.

Because Poe was a dark romantic poet I decided to add in the skull, mini headstone and black rose to the bottom shelf. It adds a bit of spookiness to my Halloween cabinet.

If you are looking for a simple way to add some Halloween decor to your home this is a great way to do it. This Edgar Allan Poe Halloween theme is not too spooky or creepy and can fit in nicely with your farmhouse decor as you can see!
