The sunroom is decorated for fall this year. It is one of the first rooms to get decorated because it is typically a kid free zone.
We have been spending our evenings out in the sunroom playing chess after the kids have gone to bed for the night.
The score board reads 1 to 1 currently.
But who is keeping score right?
My brother made this chess board for my husband a few Christmases ago. He cut sanded and glued each square together and made the frame for the board to sit in. I guess you can say being crafty runs in the family.
The chess board is definitely in my husbands top 5 favorite gifts that he has ever gotten.
My little thrifted stool makes the perfect table. I would love to eventually make a tufted cushion to sit on top of it but for right now this pretty Ikea pillow will work.
Speaking of Ikea, Don’t you love that store?! It has been so long since I have been, I think I am due for another trip! My must have Farmhouse Decor Items from Ikea are all rounded up in one spot, you can check it out here.
We also sat out here last night watching a summer thunderstorm roll in and light up the sky all around with its lightening. It was like the grand finally firework show of summer. Now Fall is here.
It seems like that will be the last summer storm as the temperature barely reaches 70* most days. It is the cool in the morning – so you have to wear a jacket – just to sweat to death midway through the day season.
Today we welcomed the first day of school which is another sign that Fall is here. I have wandered around the house, kind of lost and tinge bit sad. I love the fall season but my house feels strange with my kids gone at school for the day. Soon it will feel normal, but for now it just feels odd.
I have been enjoying Fall in the Sunroom. I mean how often do I get to sit and enjoy my coffee in the uninterrupted peace and quiet in the sunroom. Maybe I will get use to the kid free time sooner then I thought!
