Welcome to Week 5 of the One Room Challenge!
This week was a tough week for getting things accomplished in bathroom. First off the weather was so nice that it was hard to stay inside and work. There have not been a whole lot of nice days here in Michigan yet so I wanted to take advantage of them. I am glad that we did because it got cold and gloomy after those few days.
Our watch dog Alby keeps and eye out while she scoops the dirt and he eats it. Kids seem to always be able to find the smallest patch of exposed dirt in the yard.
He carried that rock all around the front yard.
She has her own special style.
This boy is also cutting his first two teeth. So we have had many sleepless nights with lots of tears. The first tooth finally popped through and the second one is right behind it.
Needless to say I have been one tired mama. Working on the bathroom was not on the top of my to do list, but I did get a few things done.
I did get the boards for the shelves above the toilet done and put up.
At first I was nervous that they were going to be too white and blend in with the walls. I really love how they turned out. I centered the shelves over the toilet.
I also got the towel rack built. This is another piece that I am really excited about. I used the same technique that I used on the shelves on the towel rack.
I looked all over for the perfect hooks. At first I was thinking of using these ones from Target. The hooks did not go with my decor for the bathroom. I really love the look of them though so maybe I will use them somewhere else in the house.
The great things about my towel rack was that it only cost me $6 to make!
I was also able to get the new light fixture hung up but you are going to have to wait until next week to see it. I am still figuring out what to do about the counter tops. I have not been able to get to the store to look at options. I am hoping to go in the next day or so.
