I am so excited to be joining up with all of these talented girls again for the 2nd Annual Christmas Tree Decor Blog Hop. Each blogger offers a unique and beautiful Christmas tree and there is sure to be one tree that inspires you! You can find the links to all the other tree’s at the bottom of the post, so be sure to check them out. Now it is time to reveal to you my Christmas tree for this year, My Plaid Christmas Tree.

This year my living room Christmas decor is a bit plaid on plaid.  After finding a few new plaid print items this summer during my thrifting trips and vintage market visits I knew that I wanted to do a rustic plaid Christmas theme. There is something about a plaid Christmas tree that give me all the cozy Christmas vibes.

I will say finding the perfect plaid ribbon to go on my tree was a challenge. There didn’t seem to be many varieties of plaid ribbon to choose from. There was plenty of buffalo plaid in black and red but not the traditional tartan plaid and the colors were very limited.

I finally found the perfect Christmas tree plaid ribbon at Big Lots! The best part was that it was only $3 a roll! This ribbon is so pretty in person! It has a soft almost blanket like feel and look to it on on side that makes it so unique and great quality for the price!

I used an assortment of red, green and brown bulb ornaments as the base for my tree. The Green and brown ones are from last years Christmas tree and the red ornaments I bought on clearance after Christmas was over last year.

I was planning on making some plaid ornaments because again, I couldn’t find any ones that matched what I wanted. That is until I found these plaid ornaments! The round plaid ornaments with the deer, snowflake and tree on them came from the dollar tree! Can you believe how cute they are! Plus they match perfectly!  I was so stoked to find them. The red frosted berries picks also came from the dollar tree as well and they are so pretty.

I found these faux birch ornaments that fit in perfectly with my rustic plaid Christmas theme and add a bit of light color to my tree. They came from the At Home store.  You may have heard of that store before and you may not have. I don’t have any close to me here in Minnesota. I actually picked up these ornaments on one of our trips out to Michigan. At Home is called the Decor Superstore and that is exactly what it is. It is a huge warehouse building similar to a Costco or Sams club, or rather a Costco and Sams Club put together. The store is huge and it is a decorating paradise. I really hope they build one close to me and soon! Until then I will just have to visit every few months when we go back to Michigan to visit family.

Now my plaid goodies at the bottom of the tree. These were all either thrift store finds or vintage market finds except for the wooden reindeer, I pick him up at Hobby Lobby a few years ago. They have the same one still available in their stores at Christmas time.

The wooden box that my tree is sitting in was a curb side find. I am not sure if box is the best word for it and I honestly don’t have a clue how it was used in its former life but it is a super large almost dough bowl box. On each end it had little slots for handles. My husband found it and brought it home. He seems to find the best curb side items!

Thank you for stopping in and checking out my Plaid Christmas Tree!! I can’t wait to take some pictures of the rest of the living room to show you the other plaid goodies I have! It is the time of year where the sun is very scarce these days so taking pictures tends to be a bit more challenging.  Plus I haven’t quite finished putting things together for the room. I hope to finish it up this week!
