• Simple Rustic Fall Living Room Decor

Happy First day of Fall!! It is officially the fall season and to celebrate the start of the season by making pumpkin shaped sugar cookies with the kids. They coated them in sprinkles, candy eyes and frosting. I am thinking that this may be the start of a new tradition for us. After cookie decorating we headed outside to enjoy the beautiful fall weather that we were having here in Minnesota. Those days often seem pretty rare as it tends to get cold here pretty quickly. After our time outside I came into the living room to do some reading before I needed to start dinner. I am currently…

  • Apple Cider Bar

One of my favorite fall activities is to go to the cider mill!  When I was growing up we would go to the cider mills all the time to pick apples and pumpkins. The fresh doughnuts and cider are hands down my favorite fall treat! I get so excited when fall rolls around and the cider mills open once more for the season!     Living in Minnesota there are no cider mills close to me. I mean legit cider mills where you can watch them crush the apples and make the donuts kind of place. Sure some places have a small apple orchard where they might let you…

  • DIY Galvanized Pumpkin

A few weekends ago when we were working on our basement remodel  we were in the process of putting the new air ducts in. When I say we, I really mean Tad. He has done 99% of the work so far. I am more of the design and decorate part of the remodel. He is the demolition and build part. So right now there isn’t much for me to do since Tad is working on framing and plumbing. I do help hold things up when he calls for assistance. It was during one of these assisting times where I noticed  some discarded venting laying on the floor. Having fall fever, I…

  • DIY Pumpkin Sign

Hey Friends! I am sharing one of my first DIY home projects that I did when we are newly married. Ya know how it can be when you are first married and money is tight. In the small town of Little Falls, Minnesota each September they have this wonderful Craft Fair that literally fills the downtown streets with vendor booths and more people then you can count. It was like the kick off to the fall season there and was a highly anticipated event for us. Oddly I only have one picture from all the years of going. It is from the year that we made and sold homemade caramel corn…

  • Fall Mantel Decor

Fall has officially started in Michigan. It kick started with a perfect bright sunny cool day and then followed up with a week of gloomy rainy cold days. I love the cooler sweatshirt weather, the rain not so much. Now that it is officially fall I can share with you my fall mantel decor, because sharing it when it was 80 degrees outside just didn’t seem right. While my fireplace is still sporting its 90’s oak mantel and big bulky glass and gold edged trim doors, much to my dislike, it is still fun to decorate. So until I can get to work on it, we are just going to look past…
