• How to build a Shiplap Door

There has been so much love for my shiplap door from my Coastal Bathroom Remodel that I did as part of the One Room Challenge. So I am going to share with you how you can make your own shiplap door in one day for under $20 and what mistakes to avoid! I came up with the idea of a shiplap door when I was brainstorming ideas for the kids coastal bathroom remodel. I really loved the idea of having shiplap in the bathroom to go with the coastal theme, but the kids bathroom was so big, my budget to small and my time to limited. I painted the plain…

  • Coastal Bathroom Reveal

This last week was a rough one for our family. It started out great. We had a great Mother’s Day with family and a fun trip to the Detroit Zoo. On our drive home our Little Miss got sick and had some respiratory distress and ended up in the Emergency Room and then was admitted to the Hospital for a couple of days. The last several days we have been in the hospital and working on getting her better. She is much better today and will be discharged shortly. Now that we are home I am able to share my pictures of our bathroom for the One Room Challenge with you.…

  • One Room Challenge Week 5 | Bathroom Progress | Spring 2016

Welcome to Week 5 of the One Room Challenge!     This week was a tough week for getting things accomplished in bathroom. First off the weather was so nice that it was hard to stay inside and work. There have not been a whole lot of nice days here in Michigan yet so I wanted to take advantage of them. I am glad that we did because it got cold and gloomy after those few days. Our watch dog Alby keeps and eye out while she scoops the dirt and he eats it. Kids seem to always be able to find the smallest patch of exposed dirt in the yard.…

  • One Room Challenge Week 4 | Bathroom Progress | Spring 2016

Welcome to Week 4 of the One Room Challenge. The coastal kids bathroom remodel is coming together nicely. I have made some great progress this week. I made a slight change to the design. My original plan was to paint the walls a beautiful light gray color, Titanium by Benjamin Moore to be exact. However once I had painted the walls with the primer I was really loving crisp white feel. I went with Dove White By Glidden which is the color of the trim. For these bathroom walls I decided to do the paint in a flat tone. I feel like the flat tone goes with my design and I am not a…

  • One Room Challenge Week 2 | Bathroom Progress | Spring 2016

Our Coastal bathroom remodel is moving along. I am glad this One Room Challenge  is over a time of a few weeks because having a toddler and a speed crawling baby makes it challenging to do most remodel work during the day. The Toddler can not be left unattended or else she decides to help herself to her own snacks, like half a pan of brownies.  How do you like my 90’s green counter tops by the way? That’s another project for another day or perhaps another year. Stick around to find out! The speed crawling baby is also becoming a bit of a dare devil and must be watched every moment of the…
